Travel Options

Although a lot of people prefer to drive from the UK, you will probably find it cheaper and easier to fly to Spain. We recommend that you take advantage of the many cheap flights available: Ryanair now run flights to nearby Zaragoza airport from Stansted. At an hour away, Zaragoza is our closest airport.

Ryanair also fly to nearby Reus from Dublin, Liverpool, Luton and Stansted.

Reus to Mequinenza takes about 1.5 hours in a car.

Easyjet run flights from Newcastle, Liverpool, Bristol, Stansted, Luton and Gatwick to Barcelona. Barcelona to Mequinenza is about 2 hours.

If you haven't arranged an airport pickup with us, we recommend that you rent a car if possible, because it offers you greater freedom when you get to Mequinenza. Europcar and Avis have depots at most airports. Driving in Spain is a relatively painless affair. Even in the busy summer season the major network and toll roads are less congested than in the UK. Routes from all airports are straightforward. The RAC has an excellent interactive route planner that will provide you with specific directions. Alternatively you can speak to us and we will suggest the easiest route for you.
