Catfishing and carp aren't the only things available on the Ebro! If you fancy a break from fishing, or perhaps if you are taking a non fishing partner with you, there's still lots to do or see. Mequinenza is a superb base for keen birdwatchers, attracting visitors from all over the world.

The Ebro region offers the birdwatching enthusiast fantanstic opportunities to observe some of Europe's rarest and most impressive birds in their natural habitat. We can advise you on areas that are suitable for walking or cycling to see them. Species are extremely diverse and include: Roller, Peregrine Falcon, Golden Oriole, Purple Heron, Hoopoe, Little Bittern, Griffon Vulure, Chough, Black Winged Stilt, Osprey, Cuckoo and the Lesser Kestrel.

Sightseeing and Shopping

The whole region is perfect for secluded walks throughout the year. Mequinenza has its own castle and nearby Fayon is well worth a visit. If you fancy shopping, try nearby Lerida or even Zaragoza which is less than an hour away.

If you'd rather just relax in the sun, Mequinenza has a nice swimming pool and tennis courts so everybody should have a nice relaxing time.

We offer local specialities such as paella as well as old favourites like steak and chips at very reasonable prices. The local wine from the Ebro region (Rioja) is superb.
